Duchess Catherine won’t be striking a pose anytime soon. Buckingham Palace has dismissed rumors that the Princess Formerly Known as Kate Middelton will appear on the cover of an upcoming issue of Vogue Magazine — despite a bit of prodding by The Fashion Bible’s hardnosed editor, Anna Wintour.
Kate, however, is hoping to time a second trip to the States around the Academy Awards so she can make an appearance at Hollywood’s biggest night. No member of any Royal Family has ever walked the red carpet at the Oscars but, thanks to her high-powered connections, it’s a viable option for Kate: Last year, Prince William, 29, was appointed President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, which means he has a considerable amount of pull in the industry.
Kate’s been completely obsessed with all things Hollywood since she was tiny,” confirms a source close to the Royal. “She loves films – Dirty Dancing is her all-time favourite – and to go to the Academy Awards would be a dream come true. It still has to be green-lighted by the Palace, but the plan is to time the visit for February so she and William can attend the event.”
