Angelina Jolie Sued For Allegedly Stealing Movie Idea

Angelina Jolie,s directorial debut has yet to hit theaters, but it continues to cause a stir – for the wrong reasons.

James Braddock, a journalist and author of the book “The Soul Shattering,” is seeking to prevent the release of Jolie’s film, In The Land of Blood and Honey, on copyright grounds.

Braddock claims in a lawsuit that he met with Edin Sarkic, a producer on Jolie’s movie, several times to discuss adapting his 2007 book on the Bosnian War before the A-list star and Sarkic developed their own version, which allegedly features similar plot details and characters.

Like in Jolie’s movie, Braddock’s novel tells the story of a Serbian commander who falls in love with a female prisoner.

Jolie, Sarkic and the production companies behind the upcoming film – slated to be released Dec. 23 – are all named in the suit, which seeks damages.
