Xbox Live Update Coming Black Friday.

We knew that Microsoft was planning to release a new version of its Xbox Live dashboard, including new IPTV services from recently-signed content partners and improved Kinect navigation. GigaOM is reporting that Microsoft is aiming for a Black Friday (November 25, 2011) release for its updated Live experience. Coming with this update is a major update of Silverlight, the code that Xbox Live service apps run on.
The new Silverlight framework is code-named Lakeview, and Microsoft has been working with partners behind the scenes to update and test their apps with the new code. Microsoft’s apparent endgame is to improve the framework to the point that more third-party developers could make apps for the Xbox 360.
The update is still a month away, but a Black Friday launch would have Microsoft’s new Xbox Live content up in time for the holiday shopping season. With more streaming video content, new game titles, and Kinect on the shelves, Microsoft could be looking to clean up this Christmas.
