Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, that was held at the Credicard Hall, in São Paulo, Brazil last September 12, 2011. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned her successor Leila Lopes of Angola at the end of the pageant. Contestants from 89 countries and territories are participating in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006.
Leila Luliana da Costa Vieira Lopes [born February 26, 1986] is an Angolan beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Angola 2011 and Miss Universe 2011.She was crowned winner of 2011 Miss Universe in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011, becoming the first Angolan Miss Universe. Lopes received the title from the former Miss Universe titleholder, Ximena Navarrete of Mexico. Lopes became the fourth African woman to win the title, the last african who won is Mpule Kwelagobe, Miss Universe 1999 from Botswana.
In September 2011, she finished as a first runner-up at the Miss Universe pageant. As the official representative of her country to the 2011 Miss Universe pageant, broadcast live from São Paulo, Brazil.Priscila Machado placed 3rd (second runner-up) in the Miss Universe 2011 pageant.
